The Round House.
An unusual and intriguing building. Can you guess what it was used for?
Pillings Lock.
On the canal north of Barrow toward Loughborough. A huge weir and flood relief mechanism. A good stretch of picturesque canal and riverside wildlife haven. Walk along the Towpath starting just over the Soar Bridge. See also A Guided Walk to Miller's Bridge.
Millennium Park.
The land was purchased by Barrow Parish Council to commemorate the 2000 Millennium. It has been developed as a wildlife area and recreation park by the Millennium Committee.
Situated just north of Fishpool Way, it contains a most unusual giant sundial. The pointer (gnomen) is 6.75 metres high and is one of only three giant sundials in the country.
There is also a circular dog walk and three huge thrushes eggs which children love to scramble over.
