Barrow in Bloom Completed Projects

Bulb Planting in King George V Park

This project was to be part of our Portfolio submission for the East Midlands in Bloom Competition 2020. Sadly, this competition was cancelled due to Coronavirus, but we did manage to plant daffodil bulbs in October 20 to compliment those we planted in November 2019. Thanks to the families that took part in both events - the annual display in spring certainly brings colour to the park!

Re-gravelling of Mill Lane Footpath

This project was started in November 2019 as a joint community project between volunteers and Tarmac supported by AV Squires. Coronavirus delayed the top up of gravel planned in 2020 but this was finally done in May 2021. The hedgerow at the entrance was also cut back to make the path a lot more open to allow more light in later in September 2021 as another community project with Tindle Tree Care. Thanks to all involved for making this project a great success.
