Barrow Arts Theatre Society (BATS)

Barrow Arts Theatre Society (BATS) is a not-for-profit, welcoming and inclusive theatre group, proudly part of the Barrow Upon Soar Community Association (BUSCA) charity (Charity No. 1156170).

We develop and nurture theatre skills of youth and adults from our local communities, and enhance the performance opportunities of our participants through the staging of high-quality productions. 

Our programme of shows – including musicals, pantomimes and murder mystery productions - is created to ensure accessibility and variety for participants and audiences.

In November 2024, our most recent show, The Wedding Singer, played to sold-out audiences at the MMC Venue in Mountsorrel.

Featuring all your favourite characters from the beloved DreamWorks film, plus a toe-tapping score, dazzling costumes, and show-stopping numbers, this production brings the magic of the swamp to life like never before.

Join Shrek, Donkey, Fiona, and a cast of fairy tale misfits as they prove that true love and happily-ever-after aren’t just for fairy tales. Don’t miss your chance to laugh, cheer, and believe in the power of being yourself!

Shrek the Musical is being staged 16th – 20th September 2025 at the MMC Venue in Mountsorrel.
