The Outwoods is about 4 miles from Barrow, off Woodhouse Lane which runs between Nanpantan Road and Woodhouse Eaves.

The Outwoods is 110 acres (45 hectares) of ancient woodland and is one of the oldest surviving woodland sites in Charnwood. The Outwoods has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of its outstanding geology, flora and fauna

Attractions include :

Walks - two signed walks, a short 1.3 km walk and a longer 3 km walk.

Picnics - There is a picnic area next to the car park and benches throughout the wood.

Entry
Admission and car parking are free. The Outwoods car park is off Woodhouse Lane.
