Barrow Community Litter Pickers

Proud to be part of Barrow in Bloom

This is a village based group of volunteers with the aim to keep our village clean and tidy and free of rubbish.

Family based group events aim to meet every month on alternative Saturday or Sundays at 10am. We hope to inspire our younger residents to enjoy all things wonderful about our village. We are lucky to have the support of the Soar Bridge Inn who kindly provide post pick refreshments.

Adults only groups events aim to meet once a month and tackle some of the more difficult areas. These can get messy!

Details for each group event are published on various village social media groups. We also have our own Facebook group.

This group has been set up with support from the Parish Council and they provide Public Liability Insurance. Please contact the Parish Council on 01509 416016 or via email on clerk@barrowpc.org.uk if you wish to join this group.

We are always keen to find out what areas around the village you think need to be a priority for this group to get working on. If you know of any areas please let me or the Parish Council know.

Please read our Risk Assessment Form and CV19 Risk Assessment Form then come and join us on one of our future tasks.

Litter Picking equipment is also available to loan. Please read the Risk Assessment for Equipment Hire before collecting your kit.

If you go on a litter pick can you please record how many bags you’ve collected on this link.

It was created by South Leicestershire Litter Wombles for recording the amount of bags of litter collected in Leicestershire.

It is used to inform authorities about the amount of work volunteers contribute to the removal of waste.

Please check when and where we will be next by looking in our Litter Picking Schedule 2020
