Barrow Footpaths Group

This is a village group of volunteers with the aim to keep our footpaths and jitties clear and tidy of rubbish and overhanging branches and brambles. We meet every two weeks, usually on Wednesday or Thursday mornings at 10am. Details for each task are sent out to volunteers via email where possible. There is also a poster at the Parish Council Office.

This group has been set up with support from the Parish Council. They provide Public Liability Insurance, gloves and tools. A brown bin for green waste is also available.  For those who prefer to help out with litter picking, we also have bags and litter pickers.

Please contact the Parish Council on 01509 416016 or via email on if you wish to join this group.

To report issues about Footpaths to the Parish Council please use the Fault Report Form on the Parish Council Website or click here.  There is also a map of the Footpaths around the village available on the Parish Council Website or click here.

We are always keen to find out what areas around the village you think need to be a priority for this group to get working on. If you know of any areas please let me or the Parish Council know.

Please complete the Volunteer Registration Form and come and join us on one of our future tasks. Our Risk Assessment is also available.

Barrow Open Gardens

Barrow Open Gardens takes place on 15th and 16th June, and our Footpaths Group has been included in this years program.  The event will include a number of suggested walking routes between the various gardens which will take in some of the jitties around our village.

Barrow Footpaths Group has set up a number of additional tasks to clear away leaf debris, brambles and overgrown branches from around the jitties to be used.

Please view these extra tasks here.
